Welcome to our Learning Community here on the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight Education Federation comprises of Carisbrooke College, Medina College and The Island VI Form. We are three distinct learning communities with close links that benefit all of our students. By combining our skills, knowledge and expertise we ensure students get the very best deal possible. Our aim is simple: We want to be the best. The best for students, the best for parents, the best for staff who work here and the best for the Island.
We are increasingly working ever closer so that we learn from each other on a daily basis. We welcome visitors and if you think you want to be part of our unique experience then please just get in contact – you will receive a warm welcome.
Welcome to Carisbrooke College. We are a smaller than average school, which during the last academic year moved in to a brand new purpose built school on our well established site. It has state of the art IT and Technology facilities and is finally the fit for purpose school building that we have been looking forward to having.
Our ethos is to relentlessly pursue outstanding teaching, learning and pastoral care, whilst maintaining the focus on the needs of the individual student. Our aim and expectation is that every student who is part of our community will achieve their best in all aspects of school life.
Outstanding education is only achieved by working in close partnership with parents and carers. We want you to play a full and active role in school life, supporting your child and working with us to ensure success. We welcome collaboration and feedback about what we do well and where we could improve. Together we can ensure each student leaves us as an educated, articulate, young adult prepared to embrace the world and the challenges ahead.
As you may be aware, I have been Head of School at our sister school, Medina College for over three years, Executive Deputy Headteacher for nearly two years and a leader within our Federation since it started in 2011. As of 1st June this year, we have taken the decision to lead a fresh approach to school improvement, build on the foundations that have been laid at both schools and use the personal experiences that we have as leaders to have an impact on those areas that still need improvement. Therefore, I am now Head of School at Carisbrooke College.
I look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure the very best for your children.
