Carisbrooke College GCSE Results Press Statement

Matthew Parr-Burman, Executive Headteacher for the Island Innovation Federation, has said, “We are very proud of the achievements of our students with their GCSE results this year. There are some excellent individual achievements that demonstrate the hard work and dedication of students and staff. I would like to say well done to the students and thank you to staff for their hard work and to parents for their support.”

There is no denying though that overall the results at Carisbrooke are disappointing. We know we can do better and we are determined to dramatically improve. Our new leadership team for Carisbrooke and Medina starts on 1st September and I will be taking over Carisbrooke directly to ensure the improvements that need to take place do so rapidly.

I would like to conclude though by reiterating my congratulations to the students of 2018 who worked hard and achieved good grades. For many of our students this is an excellent opportunity for them to continue with their studies post 16; our VI Form Campus is still accepting applications. We wish all our students every success for the future.”
