Consultation notice – proposal to remove the Island Innovation Trust as the Foundation for the Governing Body for Carisbrooke College and Medina College
In accordance with the DfE’s 2018 statutory guidance ‘Making significant changes (‘prescribed alterations’) to maintained schools’ the Governing Body for Carisbrooke College and Medina College has decided to initiate the process of removal of the Island Innovation Trust as the Foundation for the Governing Body. The Governing Body is inviting comments on three changes it proposes to make:
1. To change the name of the governing body to the ‘Isle of Wight Education Federation’;
2. To continue as a Foundation Governing Body, but to operate without a foundation body/Trust;
3. To change the composition of the Governors, where the majority have so far been appointed by the Trust. Full details of the proposed composition are included in the attached document.
There will not be any effect on the operation of the Colleges, including the VI Form, or any other educational institutions within the area. There are no costs associated with this proposal. A full version of the consultation document is given below and hard copies are available from the school offices.
