A number of our students from our singing club 'Song Cafe' and the Year 10 Music group took part in a Vocal Prom recently, together with other Island schools as part of a Southampton & IOW Music and IW Cultural Education Partnership project, debuting a newly commissioned series of songs under the collective title Our Day Will Come.

This was a powerful massed singing event on the bowling green at Carisbrooke Castle featuring young voices singing songs written by the participating schools, local artists and the island’s young musicians. Friends and families were invited to come and watch on the raised areas around the green with a picnic.

Carisbrooke College held their head high as the only secondary school participating in this event, leading the more complex parts and vocal harmonies for those new songs from the stage and performing their own solo with an arrangement of Coldplay’s ‘Sky Full of Stars’.

Well done to all the students who represented Carisbrooke College so well at this wonderful event.
