Carisbrooke College at The Isle of Wight Festival 2025

Last Saturday, 26 of our students from Years 7-11 had the incredible opportunity of performing at the Isle of Wight Festival!

First up were two of our Year 11 bands with their covers of ‘Obsessed’ by Olivia Rodrigo and ‘Amsterdam’ by Nothing But Thieves. These students were part of our GCSE Music cohort this year and their confident performance was testament to the hard work they have all put into their ensemble skills over their time here at Carisbrooke, and an inspiration to our younger students.

Following the Year 11s, one of our ‘School of Rock’ club groups took the stage with their energetic rendition of ‘Clint Eastwood’ by Gorillaz; this group, No Man's Land, comprises students from Year 8 and this was their first live performance as a band! To finish our set, we had three songs from our singing club ‘Song Cafe’, featuring a close-harmony version of ‘Cheap Thrills’ by Sia, a rousing cover of ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams and then closing with Coldplay’s ‘Sky Full of Stars’ and some audience participation!

The weather was extremely hot, but our students were all absolutely fantastic. Thank you to all staff, students and parents who came to support: it was wonderful to have such a large and lively crowd, and a real encouragement to the performers.

If you would like to get involved in any of our music groups at Carisbrooke and/or take part in some of our future musical projects, please speak to Mrs Peckham for more information.
