Christmas Concert

On Tuesday night we staged our Christmas Concert in the beautiful Newport Minster to a packed audience and with over 60 students performing. The concert began by candlelight with a hauntingly beautiful 16th century carol 'Gaudete', performed in Latin by one of our singing ensembles. This was followed by some audience participation as we sang 'See Amid The Winter's Snow Together' together, led by the cast of our  school production of 'A Christmas Carol'.

Over the course of the evening there were performances from our popular singing group 'Song Cafe', members of our 'School of Rock' club and various Year 10 and 11 GCSE soloists and ensembles. Repertoire varied from traditional Christmas hits to Taylor Swift and Muse! There was also some guest support from some students from our alumni at the Island VI Form who have performed closely with our Carisbrooke College students over the years.

The concert concluded with an energetic mass finale of 'Merry Xmas Everybody' by Slade. A special thanks to Newport Minster's church warden Pete Whitlock and Rev. Emma Cooksey for their support with this event.
