Basketball Tournament

Carisbrooke Year 10 brought energy, effort, and plenty of spirit to their annual basketball tournament, putting in a performance that had moments of real promise and teamwork throughout the day.

They got off to the perfect start with a hard-fought win against The Priory which saw them win 4-2,

The competition stepped up significantly in the following rounds, with strong sides in Cowes, CTK, and The Bay providing tough challenges. Despite facing well-drilled and physical opposition, Carisbrooke never backed down, continuing to battle hard in every game and showing great resilience regardless of the scoreline.

After losing to Cowes 0-8 and Christ the King 2-15 they had their final game against The Bay in the 5th/6th overall decider.  The Bay again proved to be to strong on the day and came away 2-10 winners, but again the boys never gave up.

Warrick led the scoring charts for the team with some impressive offensive play. Cooper also stood out with an all-round strong performance, while Jack, Riley, and Luca worked tirelessly to support the team, contributing both in attack and defence.

Ethan and Joshua deserve credit as well, stepping up to support the squad from the bench and giving the team valuable depth and energy when it was needed.

Although the team ultimately finished 6th out of 7, the experience gained against such strong opposition will no doubt prove valuable going forward. The effort, teamwork, and determination on display were clear positives to take away from the tournament.

Congratulations go to CTK for going on to win the final and taking the top spot.
