Our Year 8 students traded the classroom for a busy, bustling worksite recently during an exciting Work Experience (WEX) trip to Captiva Homes!

From hard hats to high-vis, our students got a real taste of what goes into building sustainable housing right here on the Isle of Wight. 

Here is what made the day so fantastic:

• Behind the Scenes: Students explored a wide variety of roles across the business, seeing firsthand that it takes a whole team—from architects and engineers to site managers and bricklayers—to bring a community to life.

• Smart Questions: Our Year 8s blew everyone away with their insightful questions about different training paths, apprenticeships, and qualification routes. Future careers are already brewing! 

• Eco-Focus: They learned how Captiva Homes is leading the way in building sustainable, environmentally conscious homes for the Island’s future.
