Inter Schools Dressage

At the Inter Schools Dressage Competition on Thursday 9th July, the Carisbrooke riders delivered an excellent set of performances in the Prelim 2 test, showcasing not only their riding ability but also the time, effort and dedication that goes into preparing for competition. From bathing and grooming their horses to plaiting manes and tails, cleaning tack and ensuring every detail was just right, the girls worked hard to present their horses to the highest standard. Their commitment paid off, with each rider producing a confident and polished test that reflected the hard work they have put into their training.
Poppy opened the competition with a confident and well-presented test, demonstrating a harmonious partnership with her horse throughout. She rode accurate lines and well-balanced corners, maintaining good control and balance in the canter work to produce an excellent performance.

Elizabeth followed with another impressive test aboard Rascal, riding with confidence, accuracy and great attention to detail. She made superb use of the arena, producing well-shaped circles with good bend, a consistent tempo and smooth, well-prepared transitions.
Our newest addition to the Carisbrooke team, Araya, also produced an excellent test. Despite feeling understandably nervous following a previous competition where her horse, Elsa, decided a dressage arena was the perfect place for an unexpected toilet break, Araya put those memories behind her. She maintained her focus and composure throughout, riding with a consistent rhythm in all three paces and showing careful preparation before each movement. Thankfully, Elsa behaved impeccably this time and was well-deserving of her ice lolly!
All three riders achieved fantastic individual placings. Poppy finished in 5th place, Araya secured 4th, and Elizabeth claimed an outstanding 2nd place.
A superb performance from the whole team – well done, girls! We are incredibly proud of you all.
