Carisbrooke Blog - 14 February 2025

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our Year 9 Parents’ Evening on Thursday. We received fantastic feedback, with many parents taking the opportunity to meet with subject teachers to discuss their child’s progress.

Looking ahead, please save the date for our Year 9 Options Evening on 6 March. This will be an important event where we will help guide students in selecting the subjects they wish to pursue in Key Stage 4. After half term, Year 9 students will also participate in assemblies about the options process and the subjects that are available to them.

We were thrilled to host The Apprenticeship Bus event on Thursday in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week. A special thanks to Miss Magee for organising this event, which allowed our Year 10 students to connect with local businesses and current apprentices to learn about their career paths and experiences. You can read more about this event on our website here.

Year 11 extra revision sessions are taking place over half term and you can see the timetable here. Please encourage your child to attend and and we extend our gratitude to the dedicated staff running these sessions.

We will also be holding Year 10 Health and Social Care and Child Development working sessions on Monday 17 February. Health and Social Care students are invited from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, while Child Development students will meet from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. These sessions are essential for working on the PSA coursework tasks, which account for 30% of their final grade. We appreciate your support with encouraging your child to attend these sessions.

I hope you all enjoy a restful and enjoyable half term break, and we look forward to welcoming students back in full uniform, ready to continue their learning on Monday 24 February!
