25 of our Year 9 students experienced an incredible musical opportunity this Monday, 2 June, when the London Sinfonietta came to visit! 

Mrs Peckham and Nia Collins (IOW Lead for South Coast Music Partnership) led a workshop alongside 3 musicians from the London Sinfonietta, first working on some body percussion techniques and then moving on to learning a new contemporary composition by composer Robin Haigh called 'Echo Echo'. 

Our students will perform this piece together with the full London Sinfonietta in Medina Theatre on Tuesday 1 July as part of their national 'Sound Out' tour. 

Following the workshop, our students enjoyed a very special performance by the Sinfonietta musicians and a Q&A session about their instruments, playing techniques, practice tips and musical career pathways.
