Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome

At our school, we believe that Education is Our Castle—a strong, welcoming place where every student can find where they belong and build the confidence to grow.

Just like a castle stands firm through time, education gives our young people the strength to face challenges, the space to explore, and the security to discover who they are. Every subject is like a room in that castle—maths, science, the arts, sport, technology, languages—each offering something different. Students are encouraged to find the places where they feel at home, and to step bravely into those they haven’t yet explored.

Our values shape how we live and learn within this castle:

Courage means trying something new, asking questions, and having the confidence to grow—even when things feel difficult.

Ambition drives us to set high goals, strive for our best, and believe in our potential, no matter where we start.

Sustainability reminds us that learning isn’t just for today—it’s about building a better future, taking care of our world and each other as we go.

Teamwork helps us support one another, celebrate success together, and face challenges side by side.

Learning is at the heart of everything we do—not just in books, but in every experience, every conversation, every mistake.

Equity ensures that every student, from every background, has a fair chance to thrive and to feel that they truly belong.

When we say Education is Our Castle, we mean this is a place of strength and purpose—but also of kindness, opportunity, and hope. Every student matters. Every subject holds a door to growth. And together, we are building something powerful.

I bring to this role extensive experience as a senior leader, Headteacher, and Regional Director, having previously led schools in both London and Portsmouth. I am now proud to work with HISP Multi-Academy Trust to lead and shape the vision for Carisbrooke College - a school where every young person is valued, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential.
