Year 6 Transition Day 2025

On Tuesday 8 July 2025, we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 intake to Carisbrooke College for their transition day and evening. The day was designed to give students a flavour of secondary school life and to help them feel confident and excited about joining us in September.
Throughout the day, students took part in a wide range of engaging and inspiring activities, including sessions in art, music, food technology, drama, English, science, RE, Mandarin and PE. In addition to curriculum taster sessions, our new students also enjoyed a variety of icebreakers and team-building activities designed to help them get to know each other and begin forming the friendships that will support them during their time at Carisbrooke.
We were incredibly impressed with the way our incoming Year 7 students conducted themselves throughout the day. They were a credit to their primary schools and their families. Their enthusiasm, politeness, and willingness to get involved in everything on offer was fantastic to see.
A special mention must go to our outstanding Sports Leaders, whose enthusiasm, leadership, and positivity played a huge role in helping the day run smoothly. Their support helped ensure our new students felt welcomed and encouraged every step of the way.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Lythgoe for her excellent organisation and leadership of the transition day. Thanks also go to our new Year 7 tutor team Mr Westby, Mr Turner, Mrs Ezard, Miss Osbourne and Mr Briscoe for their support and for beginning to build strong, positive relationships with their new tutor groups.
We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7s back in September and are excited to see the many ways they will thrive and contribute to our school community.
