'Voice and Influence' Group with the Isle of Wight MHST

We were delighted to hold our first 'Voice and Influence' group with the Isle of Wight MHST (Mental Health Support Team) this week! 20 of our students from across all year groups met with Aaron and Tim from the IOW MHST as part of a new 'Voice and Influence' project that seeks to give children and young people the opportunity to have their voices heard and taken seriously in decisions that affect them.

The project aims to gather and incorporate young people's views and ideas through these group forums that will take place once every term. The project hopes to help improve attitudes and remove any barriers and stigma around mental health within secondary schools across the island. In addition, MHST will encourage the forums to provide feedback on the support available in their individual schools and on the broader MHST service, and then adapt it where they can to help support the current needs of children and young people on the Isle of Wight.
