Year 10 Health and Child Care Students Visit Southampton Solent University

A small group of Year 10 students had a very informative trip to Solent University last week. They took part in a hands-on experience in the nursing facility which had state-of-the-art hospital facilities. This included team tasks where they experienced what life could be like with an illness and a virtual body dissection. The nursing lecturers from the University commented on how amazing our students were during the session. She was so impressed with the high level of interest and maturity throughout.

We also spent some time looking at human blood and tissue samples under microscopes in the Biomedical science department. Since the visit was on a Graduation Day, our students could see first hand what the end of the degree may look like, which was fantastic. From the feedback received from our students so far, this trip was definitely a success, and they have all come away with new knowledge that may be of use for their future career aspirations. So a big well done to all!
