Year 10 Boys Football - Match Report

Carisbrooke College 4 vs 2 Cowes Enterprise College
Thursday 18 September
The Year 10 lads from Carisbrooke came out firing on all cylinders on Thursday, sealing a 4–2 victory over Cowes Enterprise in a game that had everything: goals, grit, and a fair bit of “Sunday League style chaos” sprinkled in.
It didn’t take long for Carisbrooke to get their noses in front. Logan (captain), cool as you like, slotted home from the penalty spot. Some say he sent the keeper to the local chip shop on the High Street with his eyes. 1–0 Carisbrooke, and the boys were buzzing.
Then came the moment of the half: Toby decided to unleash his inner Kevin De Bruyne and leathered one in from the edge of the box. A “pick that one out” strike, no chance for the keeper, 2–0. The Cowes defenders were still looking for the ball when the half-time whistle blew.
Cowes, to their credit, came out after the break with a bit of fire and managed to pull one back to make it 2–1 and suddenly game on. But up stepped James, who clearly fancied writing his own headline. First, he buried a tidy finish to restore the two-goal cushion. Then, as if one wasn’t enough, he bagged another beauty. Two goals in quick succession, and the game was effectively wrapped up at 4–1. Cowes simply had no answer.
Cowes did nick a late consolation, but by then it was far too little, far too late. Carisbrooke had already done the business.
Special mentions:
Josh – Man of the Match. A brick wall at right back, putting in crunching tackles and charging up the line like Cafu in his prime.
Archie – Safe hands in goal, pulling off smart saves and looking calm under pressure.
Jack & Taylor – Bossed it at centre-back, reading the game like seasoned pros and putting their bodies on the line.
Ashton – Constantly a threat going forward, leaving defenders wobbling like Bambi on ice.
A proper team performance, full of fight, flair, and a few moments of footballing magic. The lads march on with a big 4–2 win, and judging by this showing, there are plenty more goals to come this season. Next game is against Ryde A. Good luck boys!
