Carisbrooke U15 Girls 3 - 2 Medina U15 Girls

The Carisbrooke U15 Girls continued their sensational, unbeaten start to the season yesterday, but not without putting the loyal Carisbrooke fanbase through an emotional roller coaster first. The girls secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over local rivals, Medina, in a game that had everything: brilliant goals, questionable defending, and enough tension to snap a goalpost.

Carisbrooke started brightly, dominating possession and looking determined to settle the rivalry early. The deadlock was finally broken by Jaime, who finished with the kind of composure usually reserved for world-class strikers (or someone coolly ordering a post-match pizza). Her 1-0 goal was a deserved reward for the team’s early pressure.

Unfortunately, just as Carisbrooke looked set to cruise into the interval with a lead, Medina reminded everyone why derby days are never easy. Hitting Carisbrooke hard on the break right before the half-time whistle, they restored parity at 1-1, leaving the Carisbrooke bench collectively shaking their heads at the timing.

The second half saw the away side regain the lead through the in-form Paighton. She struck a shot that the Medina goalkeeper—who, it must be said, was having an absolute worldie of a game—couldn't hold onto. Paighton, demonstrating the predatory instinct of a seasoned professional, promptly followed up to ensure the ball crossed the line, making it 2-1. That’s an incredible four goals in just two games for the clinical forward!

However, the drama wasn’t over. With the clock winding down and Carisbrooke seemingly in control, a moment of defensive miscommunication allowed Medina to level the scores at 2-2, with only ten minutes left on the clock. At this point, the Carisbrooke sideline was starting to tally up all their missed chances, fearing a deeply frustrating draw was imminent.

Enter Amelia, sporting a hero's cape hidden beneath her jersey. With the game tied and hearts pounding, Amelia managed to break through, finding herself one-on-one with the exceptional Medina keeper. Showing incredible calm under immense pressure, she slotted home a neat finish to secure the thrilling 3-2 lead and, ultimately, the victory.

True Team Effort

A massive cheer must also go to Amelia, Jaime, and Evie for stepping up and bravely taking on the goalkeeping duties throughout the match. Talk about versatility!

Special commendations must go to Captain Summer-Daisy, whose rousing late-game performance successfully rallied the troops for that final, match-winning effort. And of course, a huge shout-out to the dedicated, fan base and media team of Olivia and Poppy. The unbeaten run continues!
