Ink from the Oak: A sustainable Art, Science and History workshop with Jo Kori and Quay Arts

This week, our Year 11 GCSE Art students took part in a hands-on workshop creating and using oak gall ink – a sustainable, historically significant medium – alongside professional artist Jo Kori. This interdisciplinary session allowed students to blend science, art, history and environmental awareness and encouraged creative exploration with natural materials.
Students produced a range of studies using their own gall ink, reeds, bamboo quills and brushes, exploring a selection of natural forms as inspiration. Jo Kori was so impressed by the students' effort and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Well done Year 11 – you were a credit to Carisbrooke.
