Our newly appointed Year 9 Sports Leaders have hit the ground running, and we are thrilled to announce that 20 of our students have officially begun their sports leadership journey with a "flying start". On Tuesday, May 5th, our sports leaders participated in a comprehensive morning of first aid qualification training. We were delighted to host Good Skills Training, a well-established provider known for their hands-on and engaging approach.
The primary goal of the session was to build confidence and knowledge. Whether they are leading a session on our own pitches or assisting with primary school sports events, our leaders are now equipped with the vital skills needed to act decisively in an emergency.
The morning was packed with practical, life-saving scenarios. Our students worked hard to master the recovery position, CPR, using a Defibrillator (AED) as well as gaining the confidence to help someone who is choking.
It was fantastic to see our Year 9s engaging so maturely with such important topics. These students are now fully prepared to ensure a safe and fun environment for all participants in our upcoming sports calendar.
