Subject Intent: Our History curriculum teaches critical evidence analysis while exploring shared human narratives, societal evolution, and our local Carisbrooke heritage. At Key Stage 3, students build a comprehensive understanding of human chronology, causation, historical significance, and structural societal changes over time, learning to analyze sources, evaluate evidence, construct arguments, and think critically about the past's influence on the present. At Key Stage 4, students have opportunities to connect different periods, themes, and historical events to develop a deeper, robust structure of historical knowledge.

Assessment Framework: AQA GCSE History is assessed through two written examinations evaluating historical periods, source interpretations, and well-supported historical arguments.
