The Year 11 exams are now complete! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our students for their hard work, determination, and maturity throughout the exam period. We are incredibly proud of their efforts.
Next up is Prom, taking place next week—I hope all students enjoy a well-deserved, memorable evening of celebration.
Mrs McDowall would also like to extend her heartfelt thanks for the thoughtful gifts and cards she received; she was truly touched by your kindness.
On Thursday, we sent a team to the Inter Schools Team Dressage Competition. A big thank you to Elizabeth, Poppy, Lucie and Maddie for representing Carisbrooke. The team finished a creditable 2nd overall out of ten teams with Elizabeth 2nd overall in the Novice Section and Poppy 2nd overall in section A of the Prelim test and Elizabeth 5th in Section B. All of them scored over 65% in their tests which was fantastic! Looking forward to the Show jumping competition in a couple of weeks
Looking ahead, Year 10 trial exams begin on Monday. As always, we understand that exams can be a source of stress for some students. If your child needs any additional support, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs O’Callaghan. We would like to remind parents that exams missed due to non-attendance at school will need to be taken after school. Miss Jones is leading on this.
Also next week, a group of Year 8 students will be visiting Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London to see a performance of Romeo and Juliet. This is a fantastic opportunity to enrich their understanding of the play and experience what theatre was like in Shakespeare’s time—watching from ‘The Pit’ as true ‘groundlings’. Many thanks to Mrs Smith for organising such a valuable and educational trip.
I am keeping an eye on the weather which looks set to cool again next week. The uniform policy will remain at the start of the week where students can choose to wear either their PE kit or normal uniform minus blazers and ties. We will update further next week if/when we make changes to this.
If you're attending the festival, make sure to stop by the Kidzone on Saturday at 3.15 pm to watch our talented students perform! Mrs Peckham has put in a lot of effort to organise this event, and the more support they have from the audience, the prouder our students will feel. Wishing everyone the best of luck—please stay safe and enjoy the festivities!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
