This week has been an amazing week of reflection on everything we achieve as a school and for our students, I feel incredibly proud.
Across the entire school, it has been a pleasure to see such energy and enthusiasm and to see our students represent us well through sport and commitment to their teams and live up to the standard we have set for our students when they are wearing our badge with pride.
Students have seen many experiences outside the classroom this week and have had the opportunity to witness a live theatre production of Blood Brothers, creating a real-life connection to their studies in the classroom. In addition, a group of students visited BFI London for Mandarin Study Day, providing students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in a culture and language. Wednesday this week, we had the Faraday Challenge at Christ the King, where our students once again showed incredible determination, teamwork and school pride. On Thursday, Year 10 students participated in an Apprentice Workshop, giving them an understanding of the working environment and showing them some of the many options available for their future pathways.
There really seems to be an endless number of events organised by our staff, which is a great reflection of their dedication to the school. These opportunities do not just happen; they require very careful planning, organisation and support from colleagues who willingly give up their free time (before and after school, and often late into the evening) to help organise these events. I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to each member of staff that helps to organise trips, run fixtures or arrange these wonderful experiences for our students; your commitment ensures all our students have access to these types of opportunities.
Following the half-term break, year 11 students will be completing their trial exams, and we have arranged a number of revision sessions over the half-term break. Parents of students who have been invited to attend these revision sessions have received email communication. These revision sessions will allow the students to re-cap their learning, as well as build their confidence, in preparation for the weeks ahead.
We hope that the year 11s half-term is as enjoyable as possible. However, it would also benefit them to revise with a consistent schedule of an afternoon or evening each day. Completing several hours or so of concentrated studying throughout the holiday will greatly improve performance in the trial exams.
Your continued support is greatly appreciated as always, and we would like to wish everyone in our community a peaceful and refreshing half-term holiday break!
