It has been a real pleasure to welcome everyone back to school this week. There has been a wonderfully positive atmosphere around the building and it has been fantastic to see students settling quickly back into routines.
Our Year 11 students have approached their trial examinations with maturity and determination. I have been incredibly impressed with their attitude and conduct. They have been focused, calm and well prepared. The exams will continue into the beginning of next week, and we wish them every success as they complete this important stage of preparation for the summer.
Looking ahead, next week are the official Food examinations. We would like to wish all students involved the very best of luck as we know how much preparation and effort goes into these practical assessments.
It was a privilege this week to welcome visitors who came to see our memorial plaque (featured below). It is always special to see members of the wider community engaging with our school’s history and remembering those connected to it.
A gentle reminder to parents and carers: if you are collecting your child for an appointment, please allow plenty of time. Students need to be called from lessons, gather their belongings and make their way to reception. Allowing a little extra time will help ensure you are not late for your appointment.
We are currently recruiting for an additional School Governor. This is a rewarding and important voluntary role, helping to support and shape the strategic direction of the school. If you, or someone you know, may be interested, please do take a look using this link for further information and share it with anyone who you believe may wish to contribute to our school community.
On Thursday 5 March we have our Year 9 Options Evening. Parents and students are encouraged to attend and find out more about the subjects on offer as students begin to think about their Key Stage 4 choices. It promises to be an informative and helpful event.
On Friday 6 March we have the school nurses attending to administer the Teenage Booster. This is a Mop-Up Session (Years 9, 10 and 11) and is for students who are eligible and may have missed their earlier vaccination appointment. If your child is eligible, you will have received an email with further details.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It has been a fantastic start to the term, and we look forward to another successful week ahead.
