It has been another busy and productive week in school.
Our Year 11 students have now completed their trial examinations. Conduct throughout the exam period was exemplary, and we are very proud of the way they represented both themselves and the school. For various reasons, a small group of students missed some of their exams; therefore, an additional session is being arranged to enable them to sit the practice exams.
We are currently planning an exam stress workshop for any students who feel they would benefit from additional support during the lead up to the summer exams. Further information, including dates and how to sign up, will be shared shortly. In the meantime, students are encouraged to reach out to their Head of Year, tutor, or subject teachers if they would like support or guidance. We are all here to help.
This week, our Year 11 Food Technology practical examinations have been taking place. The outcomes truly looked (and I am sure tasted) delicious. The level of skill, creativity and organisation on display was outstanding. Well done to all involved for the hard work and preparation that clearly went into each dish.
It was a pleasure to see so many families attend our recent Year 9 Options Evening. The turnout was excellent and the atmosphere was positive and purposeful. A sincere thank you to our student helpers who supported the event so confidently and professionally, you were superb ambassadors for our school. If any Year 9 students or families have further questions regarding their options, please refer them to their tutor in the first instance, who will be very happy to help. For your information, please use this link to the presentation I gave, during the evening.
I’d like to extend a big thank you to the staff members who embraced the spirit of World Book Day on Thursday by coming to school dressed as their favourite book characters. Their enthusiasm helped make the day truly magical, inspiring curiosity and bringing a great deal of fun to the school day for our pupils. It was wonderful to see the creativity and energy they brought to the event, helping to celebrate the joy of reading across the school.
Finally, a reminder about reporting student absence. The most effective way to inform us of an absence is by using the Arbor App and selecting, attendance, ‘log an absence’. This must be completed on every day of absence. Accurate and timely reporting is essential in helping us safeguard all of our students.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
