This week has been another busy and rewarding one in school.
A group of our students had the exciting opportunity to visit BAE Systems to take part in the First Tech Challenge alongside Mrs Jones. This was a great success, and it was fantastic to see how much the students enjoyed the experience. Opportunities like this really help to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
On Wednesday evening, we were treated to a truly wonderful 'Night at the Musicals' concert. The performances were outstanding, and it was clear how much hard work had gone into preparing for the event. Well done to all the students who took part and a special thank you to Mrs Peckham for organising such an enjoyable evening.
Thursday saw our Year 11 Parents’ Evening, which was very well attended. It was encouraging to see such strong support for our students at this important stage in their education as they prepare for their final exams. I would like to thank parents for the very many compliments that were shared with me about our teachers, recognising how they go above and beyond to support students to succeed.
Looking ahead, the Year 7 Parents’ Evening will take place on 23 April. This is now live on Arbor for parents and carers to book their appointments. It is a great opportunity to speak with individual subject teachers about student progress and how well students have settled into secondary school. Please book your appointments via Arbor, and if you experience any difficulties, do contact the school office for assistance.
We now look ahead to the Easter holidays. We have 20 students heading off on a ski trip to Austria over the holiday. Thank you to Claire Caddick at Medina College for leading this and to Zoe Divers, our SENCO, for accompanying our students. I hope you all have a fantastic time and stay safe – we look forward to hearing all about it when you return.
We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday 13 April, for what I am sure will be a wonderful summer term. The next value we are focusing on is ‘Learning’. I am looking forward to seeing what our students achieve in the final term of school, both academically and in terms of their personal development.
Wishing you a lovely Easter holiday.
