Our Year 11 exams continue this week, and we’re incredibly proud of the positive attitudes and behavior displayed by our students. Their commitment and focus have been outstanding, and it is wonderful to see so many of them attending the 8:00 am pre-exam breakfast sessions. These sessions are a great way for students to start the day on the right note, and we appreciate all those who are taking advantage of this opportunity. They will also continue after the half term for the duration of the exam period.
Over the half term break, we will be holding two revision sessions for maths. Letters have been emailed out to parents with more details. Please encourage your child to continue revising during the break, but also to take time for rest and relaxation. We understand that exam periods can be stressful, and it is important for students to maintain a healthy balance.
If you have any concerns or feel your child needs additional support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Mrs McDowall. We have a dedicated team of staff available to provide support during what is, for some, a challenging time.
Thank you to our English staff and Year 11 students who stayed after school for an extra hour of revision yesterday. We know how valuable this additional revision time is, and we’re so proud of everyone who is putting in that extra effort to secure the best possible GCSE outcomes.
On Monday, we welcomed visitors from the Army to speak with our Year 7 students during their assembly. The students were very engaged, and we’d like to thank Mrs Lythgoe for organising this informative and inspiring session.
This week, we held our Celebration Assemblies for Years 7 to 10. The number of certificates given out was incredible, and we’d like to congratulate all of the students who were recognised for their hard work and achievements. Well done to you all!
On Wednesday, thanks to Mrs Peckham, our music students participated in vocal workshops as part of the preparation for the ‘Our Day Will Come’ Vocal Prom at Carisbrooke Castle on Thursday 12 June. This event is one you’ll definitely want to put in your diary! It will take place on the bowling green at Carisbrooke Castle, featuring young voices from across the Island, including songs written by local schools, artists, and young musicians. Families and friends are invited to come along, watch the performance from the raised areas around the green, and enjoy a picnic. The concert will run from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Families of students participating are welcome to attend. More details will follow soon.
On Thursday, Mrs Gove and Mr Roux took a group of Year 8 and 9 students to Lifelab in Southampton, a purpose-built facility at Southampton General Hospital run by the University of Southampton. It was a fantastic trip, and we look forward to sharing more details on our social media pages soon. Thank you to all staff involved in organising this valuable learning experience.
Finally, we’d like to wish all our students and their families a restful and enjoyable half term break. Let’s come back refreshed and ready to continue the great work we’ve been doing!
