I hope all our families enjoyed a restful and refreshing half-term break.
On Monday, our staff came together for a trust-aligned development day. It was a busy and inspiring session filled with training, planning, and collaboration. It was wonderful to see our team sharing ideas and preparing for the exciting weeks and months ahead.
Although it has been a shorter, four-day week for our students, it has certainly been full of enriching experiences. A big thank you to Ms Peckham for organising a fantastic trip for our GCSE Music students to the University of Southampton, where they toured the music facilities and enjoyed a live performance by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. You can read more about the visit below, and don’t miss our talented Year 11 student, Annelise, performing with the Orchestra on our social media channels!
Another memorable moment this week was our students’ participation in the Field of Remembrance Service at Carisbrooke Castle. Representatives from every year group attended, and they were exemplary ambassadors for our College. We are very proud of them.
Looking ahead to next week, our Year 11 mock examinations begin on Monday. These provide valuable preparation for the final GCSE exams, helping students to identify strengths and areas for development, build confidence, and refine their revision strategies. Please encourage your child to get plenty of rest and start each day with a healthy breakfast to help them perform at their best.
Also on Monday, we’ll be celebrating Odd Socks Day as part of Anti-Bullying Week. This is a fun and meaningful event that reminds us of the importance of celebrating our differences, so please encourage your child to take part and wear their brightest, oddest socks!
Finally, I want to thank everyone for your continued support this week as we have worked to communicate clearly around safeguarding and site safety. I understand how important transparency is to our families and always aim to share as much information as possible. On rare occasions, there are external restrictions on what I can disclose, and I truly appreciate your patience and understanding when this happens.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Warm regards,
Natalie Sheppard
