As we move further into the winter months, the wet weather has certainly made its presence known. With more families choosing to travel by car during rainy mornings, I ask everyone to be extra vigilant when using — or driving near — the pedestrian crossing. Please take a moment to slow down, look carefully, and help keep our students safe.
We have also received a small number of concerns from local residents regarding rude behaviour from a few students in the community. I want to remind all our young people that when they wear our uniform, they represent the school and everything it stands for. Kindness and respect should extend beyond the school gates. Parents and carers, I would be grateful if you could reinforce these expectations at home so that together we maintain positive relationships with our neighbours.
On Wednesday we had our flu vaccination mop-up session. Thank you to the healthcare team for their efficient work. If your child missed their vaccination, please contact your GP surgery, who will advise you on next steps.
This week we were also pleased to host our Year 11 Parents’ Evening. We had a good turnout (89%), and it was encouraging to see families engaging so thoughtfully with teachers. During the evening, students received their mock exam results, and discussions focused on where additional support may be helpful as we move closer to the summer exams.
Looking ahead, excitement is building for next week’s school play. Tickets are now available on Arbor under the School Shop section, and we are all very much looking forward to seeing the final performance. Good luck to all our talented performers, and thank you for your hard work. A special thank you also to Mr Lyle for his dedication in organising what promises to be a fantastic production.
On Monday, our Year 11 Art students will be taking part in a Natural Forms workshop with artist Jo Kori, which will no doubt be an inspiring experience. Thank you to Mrs Westby for organising this valuable creative opportunity.
Wishing you all a restful weekend, and thank you for your continued support of our school community.
