It has been another busy and rewarding week across the school, with students involved in a wide range of enriching activities both in and beyond the classroom.
Our Year 7 students have continued with their CPR training, developing important health and safety skills. Their enthusiasm, focus and growing confidence have been excellent to see, and we would like to thank Mrs Lythgoe for organising and supporting these valuable sessions.
Students enjoyed an inspiring trip to the National Theatre with Mr Lyle as part of the playwriting competition, giving them the opportunity to experience professional theatre and develop their creative writing skills.
Next week, Miss Peckham is taking a group of Music and Drama students to see Miss Saigon — an exciting opportunity to experience a large-scale production and deepen their appreciation of performance.
Looking ahead, we would like to remind parents that Year 7 Tutor Evening will take place next Thursday. This is an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and how they’ve settled in to secondary school life, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Parents/carers of Year 10 students can now book appointments for Parents’ Evening on Thursday 5 February. An excellent opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and any issues they may have, with their individual subject teachers.
We would also like to thank parents for their support following the circulation of our new Behaviour Policy, which has now been sent out. Your partnership is vital in maintaining high standards and a positive learning environment for all students. Our new Behaviour and Culture Policy Overview for parents can be found here. To help students remember and adhere to our expectations, posters listing our school rules are being produced and will be displayed in every classroom and across the school building.
Finally, with the wet weather continuing, please can we ask families to ensure students come to school with suitable coats each day so they remain comfortable during breaks, lunch and travel to and from school.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It is a pleasure to see our students thriving across so many areas of school life.
