As we move further into the Spring term, there are a number of important events and opportunities coming up for our students over the next few weeks.
Year 9 students have now completed the process of giving their preferred choices for their option subjects for Key Stage 4. As I explained during options evening, we build our options blocks based on demand. Whilst this doesn’t guarantee that every student will get all 4 1st choices, it means that we can fulfill the majority of wishes.
Year 11 Parents’ Evening will take place on 26 March, and parents and carers can now book appointments through Arbor. This is an important opportunity to speak with individual subject teachers about their recent trial exam results and final predicted grades. We will share this information with you on the evening, alongside how to support with revision over the Easter holidays. If you experience any difficulties making a booking, please contact reception and the team will be happy to assist.
Next Friday, Year 10 Computer Science students will be visiting the Science Museum in London, an exciting trip that will support and enrich their learning. On the same day, Year 11 students will be completing their Drama exam. We wish them all the very best as they demonstrate the hard work and commitment they have shown in preparing for their performances.
Letters were sent out yesterday to all Year 7 students with information about booking a place on the Bikeability course. This is a great opportunity for students to develop their cycling skills, confidence and awareness of road safety.
To support our Year 11 students as the exam period approaches, we will be holding an Exam Stress Workshop on Monday 23 March. This session will provide helpful advice and practical strategies to help students manage stress and approach their exams with confidence. Further details can be found below.
Finally, a reminder to all parents and carers to report any student absences using the Arbor app. It is important that we are informed of each day your child will be absent, so we can keep attendance records up to date and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our students. Please make sure to log every day of absence, even if your child will be away for multiple consecutive days. Thank you for your support in helping us manage attendance effectively and safeguarding our school community.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
