As we move towards the end of the half-term, it has been wonderful to see so many opportunities for our students to engage, achieve and represent the school.
Firstly, a huge well done to all of our Year 11 students who completed their component 3 (Scripted practical exam) for Drama exams on Friday. This is a significant milestone, and we are incredibly proud of the dedication, resilience and commitment they have shown throughout the process.
Also on Friday, a group of students visited the Science Museum in London. A full report will follow in next week’s newsletter, but early feedback suggests that it was a highly enjoyable and enriching experience for everyone involved.
Sport has been in full swing this week, with basketball tournaments taking place for students in Years 7–9. It has been great to see such enthusiasm, teamwork and school spirit on display. We look forward to this continuing next week with tournaments for Years 10 and 11.
Looking ahead, there are several important events coming up. On Monday, we will be running an exam stress workshop for Year 11 students who have signed up – an excellent opportunity to gain strategies and support ahead of the exam season.
A selected group of 12 Year 9 students will also be attending the First Tech Challenge held at BAE. This is a national robotics competition where students design, build and programme their own robot before competing in a series of challenges. The event also provides a valuable opportunity to work as a team, think critically under pressure, and engage with industry professionals, giving students a real insight into careers in engineering and technology.
We also have our spectacular Night at the Musicals evening on Wednesday 25 March, see poster below.
Finally, a reminder that next Thursday 26 March is the Year 11 Parents’ Evening. Please ensure you book your appointments via Arbor. If you experience any difficulties, do not hesitate to contact reception, who will be happy to assist. This is the last Year 11 Parents’ Evening of your child’s time at Carisbrooke College, and we are keen to meet with you to discuss their recent mock exam results and any next steps ahead of their final exams.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Have a lovely weekend.
